Lift Pump Leak

Hey guys, well just like the title says, my stock lift pump is leaking. The other day I changed the fuel filter and noticed it was leaking soon after I started her up. And leaking pretty frikken bad! So dad and I messed with it, tightened it and it was good. Today, was in Brownwood delivering a horse to my brother and noticed the sob was leaking again. Not goin to lie, I got pissed and all but whipped my pickup. Could it be an o-ring or seal, it's leaking right from the drain valve, and the rate of leakage differs from day to day. I just purchased an AirDog so I need a temp fix, just needs to hold long enough for the AD to make it here and get installed. Thanks in advance guys, here's looking to a cold one :c:

I presume from your post that its leaking from the drain valve on the filter housing and not from the lift pump. If so, I recently ran into the same issue with my '01. It seemed like the drain valve wouldn't close all the way after I did the fuel filter change so when I primed it, it just poured diesel fuel out the drain valve. Mine was pretty dirty so I was able to clean it up and lube the lever mechanism up enough to get it to close completely. On my next fuel filter change, I'm going to replace the O-rings as that's most likely part of the issue.
