Hey just wondering if anyone has any answers on how i can lower my egts they shoot through the roof right now with what i got in my sig any advice help thanks:tu:

one thing you have to realize, just because it goes to level 5,6,10 whatever doesnt mean you need to run it there all the time. if your blasting the egts through the roof all your doing is killing your turbo and rings and pistons. and if you wanna cool them down them about all you can do is change turbos for better air flow or add water/meth for some cooling help. a single stock turbo just isnt designed to take that much fuel and run cool.

What is "through the roof"? What kind of EGT's are you seeing?
A bigger turbo, or another turbo (compounds) will help the EGT's significantly.
Maybe double check all your CAC (Charge Air Cooler) clamps. Every little bit can help.

if your running 150's and a stock charger be prepared for that hx to just come apart it's not meant for that. get a 62 and you will be a lot happier

hey guys im realizing now that its doing this because i either have an air leak somwhere in the boots coming off the intercooler or theres something wrong with the turbo i checked the wastegate and it does not seem to be stuck open i can only spool to 25 psi and i am already at 1400 degrees somethings wrong anyone know whats up. oh and when i shut the truck off the turbo makes a weird whining noise:w2:

oh forgot to say i havent hooked up fuel pressure gauge from edge chip into airdog yet coudl this be part of my problem??

FP gauge for the juice wont affect your EGTs,

First things first, turn the dang thing down. i see over 1400 degrees really quick with my injectors and the TST box on lvl 2, because of that, i wont turn it up past level 2 of 10. I'm still laying down 460+ hp on the dyno and can smoke like a train if I'd want to. Yes, i'm on the stock turbo, have been for awhile, I just dont abuse the crap out of it.

Plain and simple, You have too much fuel, there is a point where to much fuel not only increases your EGTs to insane levels, but can actually cause you to lose performance because you're essentially flooding the engine.

Now if you're turbo is making a whinny sound that sounds like metal rubbing, its toast, you have probably destroyed it.

You need air to cool it down, water meth may take it down a tad but a bigger, stronger turbo will do much better. Forget hx40, you're in the 62 to 64 mm inducer range for sure.

god u guys help alot i still think i got a leak somewhere or as dukeboy said i got a dam toasted turbo but i seriously dont no shit about turbos prob the reason why i have not upgraded yet i have no friken idea what any of that 62 64mm nothing means liek literally anyone wanna help explain:s:

The 64mm is the inducer size of the turbo it's larger than stock and move more air. Most people Talk about turbos on diesels with inducer size of the compressor wheel and the exduser size of the turbine side

They will usualy finish with the size of the housing for the turbine. Smaller will spool faster but be a bigger restriction. You want a mix between flow and spool.
