It is called the 4th gear hunt.you can bypass the ecm with a couple lenghths of wire and dodder or clamps.ATS diesel has a print on how to do it just friend them on facebook and ask matt for the instructions.if he can't get them let me know and I will forward them to you.I did it to my 99 and it has never shifted better it takes 20 minutes to do it.

FYI, Make sure you have a really good batery ground. I went through the noise filter and a complete rebuild just to have it keep doing the same thing. I fimaly found the battery terminals where cleaned so much that the contact to the pst was a little loose and would make it feel like it was shifting up and down, but realy the converter is locking and unlocking.:scare2:

Here's an update. I replaced my original lead battery terminals with new one's from napa and the transmission stopped doing that for now. It worked right after I swapped all of them out so we'll see if it lasts - and I do have to mention i LOVE the way it drives now. No more in and out she goes down the road like it's suppose to. Thanks for all the help guys!

Baddodges: I'd still like to get a copy of that if you don't mind. I'll PM ya.

Ok too good to be true she started doing it again - not as bad as before but acouple of times. Here's the instructions from Baddodges (thanks again for sending those to me).

Haven't done it yet but looks pretty simple and nicely drawn out.

The permanent fix is a noise filter.
