Hauling question
Hey guys, i dont haul very often and i just put an Edge Comp on a few months ago. My buddies need me to haul an empty trailer(est weight 3,000lbs) to a bike week at the end of June. I was just curious as to what sitting would be safe to haul with. thanks guys

Hauling question
That's not really even enough weight to even worry about anything man. Just turn it down some and run it
|
I run it on 3x5 every day, and i know its not alot of weight but i still wasnt sure, thanks bud!

Just watch you egt's. I'd say 3000 lbs would be nothing to worry about.
|
ya i had one for a while and towed a race trailer with 2 4wheelers and all our gear it scaled 8100 lbs and i towed at 3x5 and when i was in a hurry i even pulled on 4 and 5 just had to watch egts what your running now would be no problem with 3k prolly wouldnt even know it was there.

Edge suggests not towing on anything above 2 but for something that lite you'd be okay on 3 if you watch your gauges just incase. I've done most of my towing on lvl 3, including when I towed a load of round bails on a flat bed estimated at close to or over 10k and it did fine. Just depends what your comfortable with. 3k shouldn't cause any issues as long as your not flooring it all over the place

thanks for all the input guys! I wont be beating on it ill be following about 6 Harleys! Im just the emergency garage on wheels haha

You won't notice 3k at all. The diesel shop around here recommends the lowest setting if you are going to be hauling a lot. They see people ruin motors towing on high settings over time, but with that little weight and just one trip it should be fine.

I haul building material everyday with my "01" 5k-15k. I've tried playing with the settings and found 3x4 to do the best. Better mpg and desent power, yet still maintaining 15psi. fuel pressure min. and not exceeding 1150* egt. Right or wrong??? Just me.:w2:
