south bend clutch question

i have a south bend single disc in my truck right now that supposedly allows 350 hp, unfortunately i have reached that mark and possible exceeded it. my question lies in wondering if i want to upgrade my clutch to a stronger south bend, do i need to change my pressure plate, fly wheel and everything or can i just throw a different disc in for example a 450 hp....? any knowledge would be great. thanks

oh and what do you guys think of 2 stroke oil?....... ha. just kidding. just thought i would roll some eyes.

disc wont help much, plate load is what matters most. I'd reccomend just biting the bullet now and upgrading to a 3600 Street Dual disc, this will give you plenty of room to grow without growing out of your clutch too quickly. the Street dual is rated for 550hp and 1200 ft lbs if i remember right. Since you've already got a 6spd, that means you have the bigger input shaft so a DD is the way to go in my opinion, the single disc Con FE and Con OFE discs are kinda grabby on the street depending on how you are using the truck, the Street dual is relatively smooth

I have the Con FE single rated to 500hp. Very Grabby but it holds like no other. dukeboy318 is right though. If you have the money get a dd. Im young and dumb so the grabbing doesnt bother me yet :tttt:

Get the DD! I love mine. I took it for inspection and they said it could pop a wheelie... Search Craigslist and elsewhere if you want to save some cash. I got mine for $800 brand new in the box.

i would advise getting the upgraded hydralics as well...it will help save the synconizers and alot of money in the long run

The upgraded hydros is good too. Ive learned though that after awhile the plastic piece that holds the pedal in the fire wall isnt so "upgraded". Broke mine pulling into a parking spot. Still no word from South Bend on why it broke.

I would go with a SB DD or Valair DD.

Both make excellent smooth street dual disc kits.

agreed just make sure they give you the upgrades version if you go with SB
