Leaking Fuel $$$

My 01 3500 is not only sucking diesel, it's now leaking diesel too! It's leaking from one of the supply/return fittings (elbows on top of sending unit) it has a small crack in it. I heard this is a one piece deal, and the only way to get it is dealer $485.00. Any suggestions?

For 485 dollars. I would suggest doing an airdog/fass for around 530 with the push lock connectors and you just killed 2 birds with one stone. Man thats a lame saying sorry about that but you get the point and the knowing you wont have to worry about the stock LP

Thanks guys. KillStroker if I run an Airdog/Fass setup would I just use a draw straw and use the stock unit only for a sending unit? I also have a DDRP LP on this truck, can I remove it also and put it on my 02, it still has the factory LP 58,000 miles?

yes, use a draw straw on the air dog/fass. Also, I see no reason why you cant switch the DDRP over to your 02. Unless connectors are different which I am not sure on that. If they, are, just cut the connectors and wire the right wires together. Also, I'd check with rockauto.com, thats where we got the sending unit for one of our 99s from. 165 bucks shipped. :choochoo: Granted that was for one without a pump in it, all the dealer versions I believe have the in tank pump in them now. But if you go with the airdog/fass, just put a cap on the leaking elbow and you should be fine. If its the return line elbow thats leaking, just swap the two lines and let the return go back through the former supply elbow. This will only work if you install a draw straw though

You're going to have to pull it out one way or the other, no matter what. Why not have a look and see exactly what the problem is? My guess would be a dried up, hardened and/or cracked rubber o-ring or bushing that can be easily repaired or replaced without buying the whole pickup assembly from Dodge.

Just a suggestion. :w2:
