Stock looking for more but no chip?
 

I got a friend with a 2000 cummins auto 4x4 and he is looking to make a little more power but doesnt want to go with a chip. He's got a 3in. straight pipe and thats it!! :humm:

well you can go many different ways injectors and pump upgrades are the most agreesive with staying away from chips. you can go with a new turbo too. so i would say start with 1 intake 2 full exhaust 3 turbo 4 injectors 5 pump then youll be where your wanting to be hp no electronics upgrades.

Why is he so opposed to running a chip/box? Dollar per hp gained its hard to beat a comp box, and you can always turn it down or off.

There are other ways, injectors would be the next best IMO. Diesel like more and cooler air, but they like more fuel better.

Airdog/fass before any of the above so you don't lose fuel pressure

any mod done is going to be laskluster without being able to change stock fueling.

I have a Diablo Predator...while it is not the best...there is a world of difference between running the stock fueling vs any setting on the DP.

a set of "good" gauges is a must..."gauges are the window to the engine world" =p

start with fuel pressure and make sure the lift pump is up to snuff.
