G56 swap?

I have an 01 2500 with the NV4500 5 spd tranny. From what i understand the G56 is a much smoother shifting tranny. My truck is only a daily driver and I only plan on getting to the 500 or so mark....like i said as of no those are the plans haha. But i like the idea of the 6 speed and a smoother shifting tranny. Other than clutch hydrolics and the tranny what else would be needed for this swap if it is at all possible? Has anyone done this? just an idea for now thanks guys.

I was also curious about doing this. I know the G56 shifts alot smoother with the dual mass flywheel, is it really much better than the NV5600? :pca1:

I have read that the G56 is much lighter also, and seeing that the NV5600 is no longer in production if i break something it may be harder to find parts for.

i dont know a whole lot about them but there a good tranny but the aluminum housing ruins the tranny i have an 08 cummins and at 50k it already has slop in the main shaft one of the big probs and 4th gear seems to be a fault also alot of the 6.7 guys are going to the nv 5600 or the nv 4500 with the cast housing but blumentha transmissions is suposed to be working on a cast iron case for the g56 from what they told me but thats what i know hope it helps
