Hardware to Improve Fuel Economy??
 

I am looking for hardware upgrades that would improve fuel economy!

Not sure I want to do some of the "Hyper-milers" tricks (and there are crazy people who will turn their engine off and coast, or other things - trying to get double or triple of normal MPGs). I am looking for realistic things to upgrade.

Everyone should understand that keeping tires properly inflated and driving with a super soft foot are the primary factors - BUT - beyond that - what can be done?

Rather than getting 50 HP extra from injector upgrades and/or special tuners for more HP - what are good things to do?

It is nice to have power when needed - but if diesel fuel prices go back to $4.50 or more per gallon - fuel economy will be even more important!!

Yes - those are the "common sense" items (and the very beginning of things that HyperMilers will do.) But - I am looking for any ways to improve the power plant to make it more fuel efficient and get better economy.

What type of upgrades are you looking for?

Intake, and exhaust would be the best place to start, in my opinion. An engine is essentially an air pump, the more efficient you can make the air move the better. More efficiency can be gained with timing, and a programmer is the only way you can adjust that on a truck like ours. Ive achieved 25mpg on a road trip when I had a single turbo, 65hp nozzles, Edge on level 1, and driving casually.
