Guys what the heck does this mean .P1689 no transmission bus messages ,when read by my superchips programmer i just put in. tried to clear it and it wont? please help!!!!

 

Check the relay under the hood "Fuel pump Relay" Drivers side

When this relay is missing or broken the VP44 doesn't energize nor pump fuel. It allows you to do the cranking test. But it also sets a P1689 and CEL light. So for all of you that have a P1689 error code present check your fuel pump relay first by trading with another relay!

 

any Orielys or advanced will let u borrow a decent scan tool and you will be able to clear your code that way

 

the truck runs great and shifts fine,just pulled a chevy out of a ditch tonight,wondering if i should just get light cleared and see if it comes back????

 

P1689 (M) No Communication Between ECM
and Injection Pump Module
Data link circuit failure between ECM and fuel injection
pump. Low power, engine derated, or engine stops.
Could be any number of things, and it could be a fluke. Try resetting it, and see if it comes back...

 

? Any more info?
