Single or dual steering stabilizer
 
I am planning on starting to replace some worn-out pieces on my truck in the near future, and along with shocks, I'm sure the steering stabilizer is shot. My question is, after DM's recent experience with a dual steering stabilizer setup, would I be better off just to go with a high quality single? I'm going to go with the bilstein shocks, and was thinking maybe just put one of their stabilizer's on as well. Tires are 33/12.50/16, been told that can make a difference. Any opinions appreciated.:pca1:

I had my truck checked for any loose ball joints and align properly. I'm currently running 305/70/16 which is equal to 33/12/16 and I don't have any problem with death wobble. I hit above the speed limit 1**mph regularly. The steering stabilizer is stock but I installed a steering brace. my .02 cents

Do you mean the brace that ataches to the steering box, and goes between the frame rails? If so, that is also something that I plan on doing. It's just that I have heard that the dual stabilizer setups make a big difference on these trucks, but after what DM just went through with his kit, it makes me wonder a little bit if I need duals:humm: At this point I'm leaning more towards just geting a good single but wanted to hear other opinions, Thanks:hellox:

If your entire steering system and all front suspension linkages are in correct working order, you don't need any stabilizer. So start replacing parts if you're having problems.

I know it may not be needed, but it's supposed to have one, so I figure when I replace the shocks, it'd be a good time to get a new one on there, as I'm sure the factory stuff is worn out after 10+yrs and 136k miles! And I do plan on going through a little more in depth piece by piece, the axle portion is all fresh, u-joint, wheel bearings, and ball joints, and all the tie-rod ends still feel good.
