'01 Clutch Pedal falls to floor
 

Ok, I'm editing this b/c I essentially figured out the slave cylinder and master cylinder needs to be changed as an assembly. So, here's my question. Anyone know the best place to find one for a 2001 Dodge 5.9L 5-speed? (The one in the pic)

Money is tight right now, the clutch pedal started losing pressure on the way home from dropping off the escrow check on the new house we're buying. So, this is really bad timing. Luckily we're both mechanics so we can do it ourselves.

Parts stores do sell just the slave. Its a royal pain to get it bled though, all the shops I know of order the whole assembly pre bled. Dodge has you covered on that or a southbend HD kit.

I learned a way to bleed the slave clear back on my 85 f250 6.9 diesel ( my first diesel)

I figured out, that you can take the line off of the master cyl, and leave it connected to the slave, and bleed the slave out by using it as a syringe. once you have the air out of the slave (which takes a bit of patience) then you can recconnect the line to the master. There is no check valve in the master cylinder, so it is very important to have the line connected back to the master before putting the slave back in place. remove the cap on your reservoir, and slowly recompress your slave back into place. REMEMBER to watch your eyes, as you will overflow your reservoir, and spill fluid, but will push the air back out of your master cyl and line. snug up your slave and you should be back in business.:jump:

Use a brake system vacuum or a mason jar with a handheld vacuum pump and a hose in and out to catch the fluid and it will bleed it right out.
