So if I install a Vulcan 1/2 in. straw and an airdog or fass 150 on the rail with all 1/2 fuel hose, would I vacate the factory lift pump or leave it in service? I am trying to get zeroed in for trouble free dependable service that will haul *** on demand. All advice is appreciated and thank you all. Kerley

If you go with a fuel pump like an airdog, dass or raptor you don't use the factory lift pump at all you by pass it completely no matter with fuel pump you have right now. I put on a raptor and I still had the lift pump on the block and I bypassed it co/mpletely via the instructions, the only thing on them that uses anysort of stock system is the original wire for the lift pump to tell the fuel pumps when to run using the singal from/ the trucks computer. The idea of these pumps listed is to get rid of the pos stock pump and keep the vp cooler and give you more fuel pressure for mods that demand fuel

Okay.... What do you do with the pos factory lift pump wiring that is disconnected from the lift pump? How does disconnecting wiring effect the computer? I am just learning these systems. Knowledge and education are the only things society can not take away from us.
Thank you, Kerley

the air dog comes with everything to install, and leave the stock wiring in place plugged in. It will need to still plugged in and for the fuel level sensor. And i left the stock pump in the tank as well as all the metal lines along the frame and fuel filter, i just capped off the line after the filter. It will not effect the computer because the airdog plugs into the wiring.

How is the hell would they be able to tell that from a Vin?
If, and I stress the IF, the VIN is stored in a dealer wide database they would be able to look at the service records and see the past work done to it.

If you go with the FASS HD series like I did, get a Vulcan Draw Straw V as well. You remove the factory in tank pump, and it eliminates the 1/4 issues associated with earlier draw straws. The Air Dog2 comes with a similar product in their kit.

AS for the wiring, I left the wires alone on the harness to the tank. On the inside I removed the wires and pins completely from the module. Only two wires that go to the level sender are required. The computer won't know the difference at all.

If you install the Vulcan Draw Straw there is a disclaimer for the fuel level sending unit, the factory unit is not accurate so whats the fix? Just one damn issue after another, I need a cold one or six! Kerley

I believe the new fix for the 1/4 tank issues is the Jeep Liberty sending unit.

If you talk to Eric at Vulcan Performance he will be able to give you all the specifics on this - heres a head start:

DrawStraw V HiFlow
