strange noise
when i hit 25 psi my truck sounds like it has a blower on it WTF?
|
Do you have a boost leak anywhere? Might be a good place to start, tightening a hose clamp can be a very cost efficient repair.
|
i dont think so, i just put new BD intercooler boots and clamps on but i'll check
any other ideas? |
Maybe the exhaust side of things. Blown gaskets or loose bolts. How about the wastegate hose?
|
the wg is pluged off, i dont think the exhaust side is leaking but ill check it out!!!!!:c:

I blew out my intake manifold gasket once and it did that. Made a crazy whiny whistling sound after I reached 25-30 pounds of boost. This was the gasket on the intake plte to the head, not the one on the intake horn.

Test the intake system for leaks by capping off the turbo inlet and pressurizing it with an air compressor to 5-6 pounds higher then the highest PSI you hit. Remember to adjust your compressor so your not constantly having to watch the gauge! A squirt bottle with soapy water will work wonders. Wherever it makes bubbles, you have a leak.

tanks for the info:c:
|
Did you find anything out? Mine is doing the exact same thing right now.
|
i havent had time to look into it:argh:, but i did notice it only does it when the air is on..
