replacing a dash

ok guys im tired of looking at most of my dash missing. I am looking at ordering a replacement from geno's. How do you take out the old one and put the new one. If anyone has any tips or the step by step instructions i would greatly appericate it. By the way it is a 2000 3500. Thanks in advance

Patience! Tons of them ..........and a little time. I pulled my whole dash out for heater core and wound up replacing it while it was out. There's screws all over the thing that I'm not sure u could get to if its not out. Its not hard, just involved. Take pictures of all those lines and plugs if u have a bad memory like mine. I had a haynes manual I looked through first and used to write reminders in. And if u have power windows, make sure they're up BEFORE u disconnect the batteries and harnesses...:w2:

yes like he said TONS and TONS of patience i had to take mine out out replace my heater core darn antifreeze blowing contraption. and my cousin came and took it all out in a grand total of two hours. and it took me 3 days to put it back together. but like he said main thing is remembering where everything wires up to that was the biggest problem i encountered. and pictures would be a great idea

Dash

Yes it takes patience.
I bought a texas truck and yes the dash was cracked.
Here in Alberta, they are easy to find at the wrecking yards.
Best is to find a pick and pull yourself yards, this will give you some practice.
A good tool box, metric and imperial wrenches and sockets.
A magnetic stubby phillips and an mechanics telescoping inspection mirror, will help greatly.
Took me, 8 hours, to remove and reinstall my first one, with no extra screws!
Can pull one now in about 2 hours.
Have fun and keep smiling.
I have an extra grey one, cheap.
Shipping might be a bitch.
Good luck.
