Throttle Valve Cable

24 VALVE ADJUSTMENTS
On trucks equipped with Cummins ISB engines, full throttle shift between 2nd and 3rd should occur between 2800 – 3000 rpm (OEM) with transmission at operating temp. The kick down cable will be located underneath the black plastic cover.

The plastic cover is held in place by 2 plastic Phillips head screws, only light pressure is required to remove them. Do not lose the screws or washers when you remove them. Remove the cable from the throttle linkage and support bracket.

**IMPORTANT: MARK THE CABLE at the original setting before any adjustments are made. Remove the white colored locking clip from the cable. Press the lock tab (this will take considerable force) to release the locking mechanism.

**CAUTION** DO NOT USE A SCREWDRIVER TO REMOVE CLIP, IF THE CLIP BREAKS
THE CABLE WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED!

Adjusting the cable forward, towards the radiator, will
make the transmission shift sooner.

Adjusting the cable rearward, towards the firewall, will
make the transmission shift later.

(Adjustment spec - 1/8 inch movement = ~75 rpm)

do you guys have any pics of this or a video maybe?

Just in reference to the TV cable, I have some funny shifting. Under light acceleration, the time spent in 2nd is about half a second. Just long enough to feel it. By 30km/s (18MPH) I'm in 3rd, and stay in 3rd all the way to hiway speeds. Then to get it to shift into O/D, you have to let off the throttle, shift, then reapply throttle. Under medium to heavy acceleration is shifts 1-2-3 no problem, same situation for O/D though.

it sounds like urs is adjusted a lil tight.

I was thinking that due to the O/D issue, but the quick shift through 2nd makes me think there is more to it.
