PO 121 TPS SENSOR A RANGE/PERF PROBLEM

This is probably one of the BIG issues, PO 121 TPS SENSOR A RANGE/PERF PROBLEM.

I had my custom high idle get wet from the car wash, and it wouldn't go under 1200 RPM until I dried it out. Check the wires to the sensor, could be the sensor itself.

Blue01cummins 04-28-2010 08:24 PM

i have checked the wires to it and it was just reving by itself a little at first then it started to reving higher and higher. i was just hoping it aint the computer that is bad

Blue01cummins 05-13-2010 08:25 PM

i changed out the computer in my truck still revs itself and :edit: it is like the truck has a memory of its own and it revs by itself idk if it is the injection pump or what idk what else to try..

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

i unpluged the apps and the truck stopped reving high but when the apps is unpluged it is like it doesnt know were to idle so there is a lope to it then

Most likely a throttle position sensor see if you can swap one on a buddies truck. you also have an injection pump code that might go away once everything else is fixed, if your lucky.

i tried a computer and a different tps if i unplug the tps it idles low and if i plug the tps in it will rev up.. idk i am guessing that it is the injection pump??

when you tried the new TPS did you also reset the computer? un hook your batteries and for a few min then try the new TPS.

Or are you saying you tried them both at the same time?

After you reconnect the batteries, turn the ignition on but do not start. Slowly depress te accelerator pedal all the way to th floor, and then back up to normal resting position. This should reset your APPS.
