another trans problem

so i hooked up my 18ft trailer with two 200o pound mowers on it went out worked and went home droped trailer and went out to dinner, the next day i was to demo a new scag so i hooked my trailer back up unloaded and drove around 20 miles got off the highway and got on a road with about 10 stoplights at the first light i came to a stop at red and on the change to green i feathered the pedal and here is what happened. and this is the 4 speed over drive in my 01 2500 it would not shift out of 1st i drove for a little bit a let off the gas all together and when i pushed the pedal back down and it shifted into 2nd now all my other gears are crisp and firm no slipping drives like a dream its just 1st-2nd but one it does go into 2nd it likes to pop back into first until i get her rolling with some speed i checked my fluid and its good but i am going to change it and the filter and i was also thinking about adjusting the front band but should i just take it to my mechanic and let him scan it, its not showing any codes on the key switch trick and i dont want to waste money on fluid twice so has anyone had this happen im sure someone has and due to the rest of the gearbox doing what it is suppose to as far as shifting it seems like this is something simple could it be a servo problem any help please it has never been driven hard i just pull a trailer here and there and it has never sliped or even given me the slightest wrong:argh:

update i changed my filter and fluid but decided not to try to adjust the bands i just don't want to wreck my trans so im gonna take it my my local diesel transmission specialist monday but if anybody has any idea of what this might be so i can get a dollar figure in my head i checked all my grounds re installed programming on my quad box and even took it off all together just to make sure, after i change the filter and fluid it shifts through 2-4 like butter but it was crisp before i changed it so im wondering if there is a servo causing it to stay in first and then pop back and forth once it does change like i said i can let off the throttle and feather it into 2nd but it then pops back to first so i have to repeat until i get some speed up come on everybody someone must know what gremlin this is:argh:

I have had mine where it wouldnt shift into first and would take off in second. My problem was the transducer which ran me 500$ for a new one and to clean the valve body. That was at the stealership though. My guess would be either a silanoid or something in the valve body. Good luck and let us know what the shop says.

The Governor Pressure Solenoid is usally the gremlin that causes the issuse you are having. If you are unsure of how to adjust the bands do take it to a shop. This is a nice rebuild kit that I put in in jan.I had the start in 2nd gear problem.Put this kit in reworked the VB and adjusted the bands.http://www.electricaladvantage.net/http://www.electricaladvantage.net/r...alkit00up.aspxThe case of the start off in first gear problems is that the solenoid gets clogged with cluch dust and effects the voltage output on the sensor.

im thinking of going with a brand new vb with all the electrics i am just getting info on who makes the best i am gonna go to the trans shop monday but i reset the pcm today and changed my filter and fluid yesterday its not as bad as it was but its still doing it if he says he can fix it without needing anything new than im good but if he says i need new electrics im just gonna buy an complete vb and put it in myself i will probably adjust the bands now that i have all the torque specs so im in the now of how to do it
