need quick advice on cummins trade

got a possible trade for a 95 chevy one ton 4 door 2 wheel drive with a 1990 cummins and 5 speed transmission pyro and boost gauges he says it gets 30mpg and has a intake and bigger injectors.

My truck has all the stuff in my sig but also leaks power steering engine oil front seal on tranny and recently started dripping diesel out of the bottom of the injection pump. It also needs a new instrument cluster it's shot truck is dinged up pretty bad too and paint is peeling what you guys think plus I tow a descent amount not sure if the older tranny is good to hold up from the 90 chevy

Let it fly! Trade him but there's no way the truck gets 30mpg

Red_Rattler 03-25-2010 07:54 PM

Why?

for one his truck is worth more , for 2 your going back 8 years , for three you have way more HP and TQ , For 4 your getting a conversion vehicle if you didnt do the work your self you may be out of luck if the right things go wrong

i agree keep what you have and repair it at least you know exactly what you have better off in the long run

Ha whoa wait a tic... I'm in mobile mode lol couldn't see his sig. I thought he was trading a 90 Chevrolet for the cummins! So I went into the profile and saw what he was trading and yea that's a horrible idea!
