ABS Light on again.

During the winter months, my ABS light will hardly ever come on, but during the summer, it will come on quite often. Sometimes when I just start the truck, other times when driving for 30 plus minutes, there is no set pattern to it. The trucks computer shows no stored codes. When starting the truck, I usually wait until all of the lights clear on the dash, this will sometimes delay the ABS light from activating, but again it might just come on as the truck is placed into drive. I have replaced the sensor on the rear pumpkin, no change.
So are we looking at a bad wire or bad connection? I hate to take it to the local Dodge dealer, as all they would do is start changing parts, and this could add up to many $$$ in a hurry.

mine has done this for the last 5 years. mine just goes on for a few seconds then goes out. i just ignore it. my mechanic went crazy too trying to help me figure it out. i think its just a thing that happens. your not alone. i have talked to a few others that it happens on too. some stayy on for a day some minits some seconds.

i wish there was a definite explaniation but i havnt found one yet. if you find something let me know.
so far i have tried cleaning, replacing parts. testing cleaning wires and connections.
good luck

There is a $39.00 sensor on the rear axle that may very well be the cause of your light.
Mine had the ABS light on as well as check brakes light.
I also had intermentent speedo and cruise.
Changing this sensor was easy and all the issues were resolved as result.
Hope this helps. Good luck

I believe that sensor on the rear axle is where the PCM gets its speed signal from. Unlike others that use a sensor on/in the transmission.

I had a burnt wire on the drives side from the ABS sensor and the llite would come on and off but you had to take the brake rotor off to see it.It was resting on the brake sheild and after a while it burned through for it getting hot.
