new truck. needs work

i just bought a 2002 dodge 3500 4x4 with an auto and the 24 valve. it was a friends dads lawn maitnence truck and its been beet to h*** it has 120000 miles on it and the tranny is blown. im not to sure about autos i dont even know what kind it is. but my plan was to do a tranny swap with my silver slug. i was thinking put my nv5600 in the dually clean it up and sell it. and put all the money into a fully built tranny.
my questions are...

how hard is it to do the tranny swap?

and what is the best tranny to buy for my silver slug? i want the best tranny and i dont wanna have to get it rebouilt every year.

and insted of doing the shifter for the auto on the trearing collom could i do a floor type shifter like the old muscle cars?

thanks a bunch! :c:

Id say go with a Full Suncoast Tranny with the manual valvebody depending on what you wanna use the truck for.

Also if your gonna use the truck for sled pulling why not just leave the nv in there, you already got it setup with a big clutch and everything

yea its gonna be used mostly for sledpulling. i decited to keep the nv and leave the just do a regaluar rebould on the new trucks tranny :c:
