Help!! May have a big problem

Got new injectors in but was driving today and when I come to a stop, fuel pressure drops to 11 and sometimes 0. Truck starts idleing funny until I start to go again. I have no idea what the problem could be, does anybody have any input on what the problem is? Thanks:argh::argh:

Use a different fuel pressure guage to verify the reading. Probably the lift pump.

Im thinking lift pump

jake 94 03-17-2010 05:47 PM

so if i was to get a fass i would be good to go?

94dizzyram 03-17-2010 06:01 PM

Your BD Diesel Lift pupm is junk when you start modifyin your truck. its gott for a stock truck and thats about it....i have one and regret purchasing it. Do the right thing and purchase Fass or Air Dog

ok so now im comin to figure out now from driving it, it only drops pressure when in gear if i put it in nuetral its fine and also my oil pressure at an idle is at like 17-14 psi and im pretty sure that should be like that. can someone tell me whats wrong im so confused

01quadcab 03-18-2010 01:24 AM

your lift pump sucks balls thats whats wrong. Upgrade to a fass and be done.

mainman300 03-18-2010 01:26 AM

at wot the lift pump cant supply enough fuel pressure and volume for your vp44 to supply your new 150 injectors. at idle the fuel pressure will be higher because it is being restricted.
Is it hard to start?

lmao omg I just peed a little

jake 94 03-18-2010 10:09 AM

no it starts great everytime but im gettin an airdog 150 that should do it :)

mainman300 03-18-2010 01:42 PM

airdog is a good pump better than replacing your injection pump

jake 94 03-18-2010 05:28 PM

i hope its not my injection pump. if i put the air dog on do you think this will fix it? and also what should my oil pressure be at an idle?

dodge rodder 03-18-2010 10:49 PM

the Pure Flow tech... raptor 150 dosen,t have the extra filters on it but i have one. its well worth the money. its a little cheaper, its your call tho, just my 2 penny's. good luck:hellox:

I don't know what your oil pressure should be at idle as my truck the gauge doesn't move. I will have to look at the 99 when I drive it, I don't pay a lot of attention to it. go airdog over raptor due to the finer filtration. clean fuel helps save pumps and injectors.
