Clunk in front end when turning (once per turn direction)

Hey all,

I have a clunk in my front end when I turn either direction. I replaced the pitman arm and inner tie-rod 2 months ago and replaced the ball joints just over a year ago. I have a DT track bar and replaced the passenger side bushing.

I have a clunk when I turn from one direction to the other. I haven't had a chance to look under there lately, but do any of you have any ideas? it seems like I can feel it in the floor board but hard to tell.

Any ideas of what to specifically look at would be appreciated.

Thanks!

my steering box is going out. do you have any play in your steering wheel because they said that was my problem.

I do; I don't know a Dodge that doesn't though.

The u joints that hook to the front hubs could be bad happens to my plow trucks

New U-Joints when I had the Ball Joints done. I will check them though.
Thanks,

Might try getting under there and having someone else turn the wheel while you watch things. Seems like if you can feel it you should be able to see it.

U-joints in the front drive shaft check them.Stabilizer shock mounts to.Miles on truck?:humm:

Could be the stabilizer; 225,000 miles and still the stock one.
I'll have to get under there and take a look with some one on the steering.
I'll do that tonight and post my findings.
Thanks!

I took a quick look under there with someone in the truck turning the wheel when running, truck stationary. Clunk is still there; with wheels not turning. have to look more in depth by getting under there for a longer period of time. Could Balljoints make that noise? it looks like the steering box is tight. Seems to happen when wheels are turning to the left more than when turning to the right.

Any input?
Thanks,

Have someone turn the wheel side to side while your under the truck watch where the track bar attaches - if there is movement there I would suspect you need a new trackbar.

Have you ever replaced the trackbar Mike?

I replaced the Track Bar 2 years ago with a DT bar. I replaces the passenger side bushing about 2 months ago. I will have to lay under there and look hard.

I can feel the clunk in the bumper; I thought it might be the PS pulsing through the winch, but there is less feel of the clunk when I hold the winch.
