I've tried using the search function, but to no avail.

Well, i need to know what fuel filter to use for a 98 24v. The only stores that i have localy are stealerships and a Napa, are the napa filters any good? or should i suck it up and just buy one at the dealership?

On a side note, though there's a thread above me on this matter, what oil filter should i run? I'll be picking the truck up sometime this week and plan on doing all the general maint. at that time.

Oil, an opinions? At my shop we have Bulk Rotella T, so it would be quite cost effective to say the least.. Besides the Rotella we also stock Mobil Delvac.. is there really a diffrence between the two?

One last thing, has anyone used BlueChips Idiot light for fuel press?

(1) AF25541 - FLEETGUARD Air Filter
This 4/2/1 kit assumes that the owner has not made changes to the fuel filter location via a Prime-Loc filter relocation kit.

About the oil eithier one is good,some people use amsoil to whicle is good too.

ok you will want a gauge not a light for fuel pressure by the time the light comes on it's too late. napa makes a good fuel filter, but you will want to save for a airdog or fass so you don't have to deal with that anymore and will filter down to 2 micron with the right filter on them. I don't know on the oil I run AMSOIL in every place that takes oil on all my rigs.

your getting good advice. shell oil is good oil just change it pretty often. amsoil is good stuff. airdog is a nice piece that will help alot.

Other thing to mention is the Fleetguard LF3894 oil filter. Get it from Genos or directly from Cummins (if you have a Cummins service center in your area)

As for oil - I much prefer Amsoil HD Diesel and Marine oil as it still carries the API CI-4+ rating. Most other oils have changed their formulation to API CJ-4. This is important to note because the newer oils are engineered for 2007+ trucks and are not as good in the older engines. I believe the new oils are lacking certain components such as Zinc and some people claim that they have experience engine problems after converting to the newer oils.

A fuel pressure light without a guage is useless. If you want to go ahead and install a light - go ahead, but you still need a guage.

Is there a way to convert a light into a gauge or do you need to go with a whole new set up?

Convert a light into a guage? - Um NO.

They are two very different things.

Well then is it possible for the two to co-exist if you are already tapped into your injection pump tester port?

Of course.

There are various ways of doing that. Tapped banjo bolt on the outlet of the fuel filter.

I much prefer to never tap into the VP-44 test port. Its a test port - you should leave it free so that you can actually use it as a test port iif you need to verify your guage reading.
