Without knowin the details here I would guess that the problem was more with the clutch then the tranny. If your runnin that stock clutch it will give out long before you touch that tranny. Granted I've never pulled these weights for long distances like that but I have pulled that weight and more with this 5 speed and never had a problem with it. 5th gear was the only issue I have had and it's been fixed for years now.

On the transmission coolers - I've run them for five years. One mounted on the shaft-side PTO access to a 5600, the other on the PTO access to the transfer case. (I have an Eaton MT filter mounted on the 5600's other PTO access, which is why the second cooler went on the transfer case - not necessary, but a little extra fluid & thermal dispersion doesn't hurt.)

On the 5600 transmission/big shaft & clutch - that transmission will hold the horsepower and trailer the kind of weight mentioned in above posts. The stock clutch assembly, however, will slip badly.

That ATS kit is ridiculously priced, I'm sure you could make that for a third of the price :humm:

would this build up pressure in the tran's.i have a car that could use this set-up.maybe it would help it hold together on those high rpm shift's.
