For prevention you can pour some oil down in the door. Block up the drains as best you can, pour some used motor oil in and then drain it. Do it at night when the neighbors are sleepin and carry a rag for a few days to wipe up the drips but after that you don't have to worry about rust in there for years.

Once it's to late, cut the rust out and weld a repair panel in it's pace and re-paint. What it takes for a repair panel depends on what's damaged. A new piece of sheet metal cut to fit for the lower door, a new door skin or a whole new door if the bottom is rusted out.

i pulled the door panel's off.they have very little paint on the inside of the door.it's got some kind of lithium grease in the bottom.i washed out the grease and poured paint into the bottom of the door's.then i got a brush and started spreading the paint around.to me it look's like it rot's from the inside of the door's.i also keep adding paint on the outside underneath near the door seal along the seam.i've seen plenty of ram's with rotted door's and wanted to prolong it as long as i could.
