Staling problem
 
I have a 2500 24v 02 and sometimes you will be going down the road and the truck will just die or at an idle it will act like you turn the key off and then turn it back on before the truck dies like it will stumble but very rairly die. Some days it runs great and other days it wont get over two grand for a mile and then all at once will fire on all cylinders. Could it be the fule solinoid is groundin out some were or what i dont know. Someone out ther hear of this.:s:

have you checked for any codes? It almost sounds VP related :humm:

No can i disconect the batterys and reset the computer or is that only on the older trucks. I think it is electrical tho i dont think its an injector.

No it has the pump in the tank i am pretty sure thats what dad said.

Really need to check for codes as this could be many different things that would cause this. Any one of the 3 sensors can do this, clogged fuel filter, a leak in the pickup tube are just a few of them.

Make sure the plug on the VP is on there tight as it should be.
I had an issue a couple years back almost exactly like this, and it was from a loose connection on the VP plug. The truck would almost cut out like the engine was off for a split second, and then come back to normal. Drove me crazy until i found it!
Worth checking out.

The VP44 is your Fuel Injection Pump, that sits right underneath the throttle body where the cables go under the black cover. If you look down into your engine bay and follow the fuel supply tubes from the top of the engine to the front of it and down they lead to this pump. On this pump you will see a bundle of wires that come together into a single plug and hook up to the pump. Try wiggling that plug around to see if it helps or even pull it and put a little dilithium/dielectric grease in the connectors and plug it back in.

If you go to most any of the auto parts places like Auto Zone, they will check your truck for codes free of charge. Just write down the codes they give you and have them clear them when your done. Then post the codes up here for us and when the truck acts up again take it back to them to have the codes read again, once again posting them here.

The reason for having them checked twice is that anytime your truck throws a code it stores it until somebody clears it and so the original codes may be left overs from the past showing issues that have long since been fixed and the second reading will tell us what codes the truck is giving you as current problems.
