Need some help w/ this one . . .

So this guy at work (who is one of those anti diesel guys that thinks the K10 he had 20 years ago would drag my dodge all over the place :crack: ) keeps telling me to run dual injection pumps. I explained to him about how the VP44 works and how it's run off the motor so getting 2 to work together would be almost impossible, but he refuses to let it go and swears it's possible. Any thoughts on dual VP44's would be appreciated.

tell him to make it work and you will buy a set.... I am pretty sure you would have the weight and torque advantage there but some people are set in their ways. I enjoy taking my daily driver to the track where people don't see many diesels and run 12.38 to 12.45 8 times then drive home. I always hear a diesel isn't supposed to do that.

Not saying dual VP's isnt possible, but no one has done it yet that I know of. You could not belt drive one like the common rails do since the VP has to be timed correctly, then you still have to come up with dual feed injectors for a 24v. P-pump is a much simpler route and still the power king.

Obviously the asshat at work dont know at all what he's talking about, so forget him. That is unless he takes 01qc's suggestion and finds said chebby, in which case you drag it to the next county...:choochoo:

Inline 12 would get the job done, big bastard, but works. I've never seen a rotary 12 cylinder pump before, but it would be neat to see. Should be about the size of a large pumpkin! :yeah:

When they are up to snuff, won't a stock VP support just about anything you can throw at it?

A wise man once told me long ago...... "Smile and nod"

I asked Mr. McCabe this very question about a 1 1/2 years ago, and he reassured me that it is not a option with our vintage of trucks, be pretty neat if it was though.
