?'s about 01 dodge insturment cluster

If I change the instrument cluster will my odometer still read the same? Will I run into any other problems changing the cluster? And will a cluster from a 2000 work in my 01? I'm asking because i did an auto to manual swap and I found a manual trans instrumet cluster.
:humm:

the mileage is attached to the cluster, not sure if you can change that part or not

if i remember right the millage is stored in the on board computer of the truck so the cluster should work and why change the cluster the auto indicator is just held in with 2 screws just make your self a block off plate on your old cluster and your done

I am pretty sure that the milage is stored in the cluster have had to replace quite a few on customers vehicles over the years and would have to send the old one in so the new ones could be programmed with the correct mileage, My dad just had to have his cluster replaced in his siverado and thats what had to be done. I know its chevy vs dodge but pretty sure same principle though.

the mileage is stored in the cluster I have removed mine before in hopes of getting rid of painted back plate to no luck but got it taken care of.

I agree, the mileage is stored in the instrument cluster, this goes for all models with a digital mileage. Its has to be program by a GT1 computer.
