Oil Leak

Well my truck just started leaking oil on me yesterday. Its not a bad leak but you can see it drip. Guess I'll have to take some time and tear it down. Haven't had time to check it out good some im not 100% sure where its coming from but it doesnt look good. The Fan has thrown it all over the front and my alt is about covered. :argh:

it aint the crankcase breather is it

Hope you have better luck findin it then I have. I been trackin that same damn leak for 2 years now. A couple times now the alternator has gotten so soaked it smoked up the cab of the truck and i had to stop and spray it all down.

I've changed the front crank seal and KDP'd it at the same time, tightend oil pan bolts and rebuilt the vac pump with new seals and none of this stopped it.

Looks like it actually might be the head gasket. I just took it for a spin and went out with a flash light and seen a few small bubbles coming from where the head meets the block in the very front of the engine about a hair to the right of the head bolt.

Trying to decide on which direction to go. I can't have my truck down to long or I would go all out and do rings, studs, port and polish the whole works. But this truck is a daily driver so.

Not sure if it would work or not just a thought but could you possibly try retourqeing the head bolts? Probably wouldnt solve the problem but might buy you some time.

Do a quick head pull, but replace the head bolts with studs while your in it. Why build a 1000hp capable engine unless you plan on making 1000hp? Saves time and money
