Ok while every one is on the subject of cold weather the temps have been about 0 around here or pretty damn close is it normal for the brakes and the power steering to make wloud noises when you put the brak on and turn the steering wheel it only does it when its really cold out and it stops after i drive it for like 15 miles maybe a lil less but i dont wanna jack anything up

 

Sounds like it's time for a fluid change. Use some AMSOIL or Royal Purple synthetic in it.

I do think they make brake fluid but I was talkin about the power steering fluid here, sorry about that. The brakes also work off the vacuum pump that is driven by the power steering pump so it's all tied together there and the wine your hearing is probably from the fluid being to thick in the pump till it warms up.

 

how would i get that warm would it stay warm if i keep it plugged in and would it hurt anything being like that

For the power steering fluid, a turkey baster is the easiest way to do it without havin to pull everything apart. Just suck it dry with the baster, refill it, start the truck and turn the steering wheel back n forth a few times, shut the truck off and then suck it dry and refill it again. This will get most all of the fluid replaced without having to bleed the system.

If you want to do the brake fluid spend the few bucks and get some speed bleeders to install. They make life so much easier doin this stuff by yourself. Most auto parts stores sell em. yeah my truck made the same noise a few years ago but I put the amsoil power steering fluid in and it's quiet now. you can also use one of the siphon pumps with the little ball in the middle they work well for doing that. I would suggest doing the brake fluid too, especially if it has never been done. drain the reservoir fill with fresh then bleed the system you will be amazed at how much better your truck stops too.

 

well i will try that but i have one problem i was out looking and the guy that had it befor twisted the driver side rears bleeder nipple off how can i fix that
