J-Hook (aka Turnbuckle)

Hey all. Wondering if there was anyone in here that had any experience with the J-Hook upgrade that BD sells (or any other company)... I already know that if you start messing with boost levels, you need a boost fooler or a module with one built in or you reach defuel. I also know that these turbos are only good for about 35psi before the drive pressure becomes too great.

Pros? Cons? I know this is the only thing you can do with a 47RE-equipped CTD to hold more boost, but is the install easy? Is it an effective upgrade? Has anyone had or do they know of any common problems following installation? Typical additional boost levels? All available information will be helpful.

Thanks in advance. :humm:

I had one. Worked good and easy to install. Kept the turbo from blowing off all the boost between shifts. Althought if you can track down a decent HX35 it's a much better upgrade.

what would be the pros and cons tho of having a j hook like i have a hx35 and i rarly see 22 psi what would be the effects or actions on my truck if i went with a higher boost not exceeding 35 or 30 psi for example would there be more smoke faster spool up things like that is what i am asking for and i think thats kinda what Moose is looking for

If you have an HX you can upgrade the wastegate or change the exhaust housings. The j-hook is the only mod for the HY's because of the hard wastegate line.
