Could this maybe of had the smarty loaded to it to get the warm up?

0 degrees C is not "that cold." It should start and run fine with no heaters, block or grid at that temperature and even a bit lower.

Sorry! But i guess i didnt mention that it does that at -15 and lower, yesterday i've started it at -20 without had it plugged in.
But i should first check the injectors out and then see what happens or first run some fuel conditioner through.

I also drive a 2006 Jeep CRD, but the start up sounds and smokes are totally different, i guess because this is the new diesel system (Common Rail Diesel) and its easier to start up in the cold weather. Even preheat the injectors takes less than 2 sec at -10C.

X2 sounds like the high idle and 3 cyl warm up to me too. Got a thread going on doing this to my truck as well. BTW welcome to diesel bombers good luck.

No reason to. Fires up just fine and no plug in at work anyhow.
