Reman Kits

Anyone got any info on a Dodge rebuild/reman? Mines got 560,xxx mi. on it so I'm thinking its definitely time for a "slight" tune up:w2:

really before you do anything drastic i would get an oil sample tested and see what is showing up in there, 500,000 you should be fine without going into the bottom end, now if you wanted to do an overhead, maybe even get new valve springs but nothing below the head should need rebuild, unless there is something else that makes you believe it does. Weird noises, excessive blowby etc

Very good point, I hadn't really taken all that into consideration. It's just getting to that time where I'm pretty sure that some degree of rebuild is necessary for it to keep on goin good.

Perform a compression check as well, it will tell you the condition of the cylinder walls.

Compression checks are ok, but more important is a leak down test. That tells you where the lost cylinder pressure is going, be it past the rings or out a valve.
