Default Death Wobble?

So I took my pickup in the other day to balance, rotate and re-align my tires and front end. All went well with the tires, problem was that the front end was messed up, pretty bad. Now I know I've got to replace my ball joints, being a 4x4, I need four, obviously, and it costs a pretty penny. My question is, what preventive measures do I need to do so the "Death Wobble" doesn't attack my pickup? I had the torsion bar replaced a year ago, not sure if that has a great effect or not, but just asking for some advice/help before it all goes to hell.

without throwing a bunch of money at it for nothing. all steering components need to be good and adjusted properly. if you have a lift the drag link need to be parallel with the trac bar.
I set my camber on my controls a little more than spec. it has proven to be the best thing for DW prevention. the steering shock doesnt fix anything. you will still have death wobble but you wont feel it. if your steering is set up correctly and is tight a steering shock isnt needed.
