Injectors
Hey, I have a 2002 Dodge Dually with the 5.9 HO Cummins, I have 4" MBRP exaust K&N filter, and Superchips stage 3 programing. I am now looking to upgrade injectors. What stage injector should I go with.
Do you have any plans on getting twins or a different / larger single? If so, anything, if not stage 3 at the most.
I don't have any plans in the near future of turbo upgrade. Will it somke like a freight train if i go up to a 3 without increasing air? or will it be fine
it will smoke but with smoke comes heat and that is bad make sure u have guages
without gauges, what stage? I dont want to damage my engine. Whats the biggest I can safely go
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- And I do not want smoking unless im in the throttle hard |
l
hey personaly if you go with anything extra that inhances power i would ave gauges just to be safe and it keeps you up on what your trucks doing and how its performing but thats my opinion
you need gauges on a stock truck as the fuel pressure could be low and you will need a new injection pump. ditch the superchip and get a good programmer and you will not need gauges you can do them at a later date

like everyone has said, you NEED gauges, the last thing you want is t obe overheating and melt a piston because, as hotcummins said, with smoke comes heat...
with rv injectors and nothing else, i could hit 1350 on the floor hard. which is to hot for a sustained amount of time. with the super chips, i figure u will have higher egts with just a 40hp injector. u need some gauges before u do injectors. jmo good luck :U:
