fueling

the other day i turned the quad. adr. up to Powerlevel 8 and the truck started to pop. i have the quadzilla Adr. AFe air intake, raptor fuel pump, BD intake elbow, 64mm turbo, 200hp injectors. is this a common problem for this pump. i think the pump can't supply the engine with enough fuel.....but i dont know...what do you guys think?:humm:

01quadcab 10-03-2009 12:17 AM

whats your fuel pressure during this?

Dr. Evil 10-03-2009 01:26 AM

Suspect low fuel pressure. If you dont have a fuel pressure guage - you need to put one in !!

Diesel Dawgs Performance 10-03-2009 09:31 PM

What Tune are you running on the Adrenaline?

turbo20psi 10-03-2009 10:22 PM

I dont think your raptor is keeping up with your mods bud.200 hp 64 mm Adr. Seems to be to much for the raptor.Stock line feeding the VP44 huh?Need a fuel pressure gauge.Remember when you add mods you not only need pressure but volume to. pressure of fuel and volume to.justs my experience with race cars.Get a fuel pressue reading.

Diesel Dawgs Performance 10-04-2009 10:17 PM

If he bumps the pressure up on the Raptor it can support those mods. But we need to know his fuel pressure and what tune he is running.

VPpower2002 10-05-2009 11:16 PM

i have a fuel pressure gauge but its broke, i orderd a new one. comp tunes on the adr box. i bought an Airdog 150 and that comes with the 1/2 inch lines today installing it tomorrow. the raptor pump was used when i bought it off a friend.

Diesel Dawgs Performance 10-06-2009 12:58 AM

You could have been fine with the Raptor as long as it was still working correctly. Are you using a Pulse Monitor on the Adrenaline?

VPpower2002 10-06-2009 12:43 PM

no its just the control pod.

12vcummins96 10-06-2009 01:02 PM

well looks like you guy got this one under control:U:

VPpower2002 10-06-2009 11:55 PM

put the airdog on and it runs just fine...all the way up to powerlevel 10...works just fine..took along time to install but finely got the system running.:bombin:

Mod away my friend, now you dont have to worry.:U:

busta 10-07-2009 04:20 PM

get a fuel pressure gauge on and also might want to invest in the pulse :w2:

your only getting half of what you could get out of the adrenaline without the pulse

VPpower2002 10-07-2009 10:45 PM

iv bought the pulse before and the screen cracked both times. i like that screen but its more a problem than anything else. but really like the set-up i have now.

Run the TORQ tune it is awesome, you can fog out the highway with not trouble
Stock turbo and injectors make 47PSi boost

cummins24 10-10-2009 03:57 PM

Wow and that HX35 didn't come out the tail pipe under 47psi? :humm:

What settings are you using on the Pulse?

JDpwr 10-12-2009 08:01 AM

No the HX35 stays together somehow. I run PL6 driving around and PL10 for fun.

Bmechanic.92 10-12-2009 10:51 AM

JDpwr isnt kiddin his cummins moves and there is black smoke ive seen it at 47psi its crazy

Diesel Dawgs Performance 10-12-2009 05:10 PM

Anything over about 33-35psi and you just pushing hot air and high drive pressure.

mysterync 10-12-2009 05:39 PM

:pca1: Lukes right...No power there

Diesel Dawgs Performance 10-12-2009 06:24 PM

On the TQ Tune I can hit 45psi easy.

JDpwr 10-13-2009 09:43 AM

Yeah thats what i have read before. I usually dont run it that hard but it will get there. What are the stock gaskets and bolts good for? 40-45?

mysterync 10-13-2009 10:45 AM

45psi is fine, but it's not boost that kills gaskets. Its timing and high drive pressure.....and you've got alot of both! you too LUKE!!!! lol

Diesel Dawgs Performance 10-13-2009 12:34 PM

I know I like to live on the Wild Side. lol lol lol

Before I put in the boost elbow I could hit 33 or so and with the elbow ive hit 47 a few times. No one really makes a good adjustable elbow anymore. Guess its just time for a Turbo.

Luke

JDpwr 10-13-2009 01:18 PM

Same here. I just havent found one that i really liked yet.:humm:

mysterync 10-13-2009 01:23 PM

We can still get the adjustables from II i think.

Diesel Dawgs Performance 10-13-2009 02:50 PM

I believe the only one that makes a true adjustable one is from TST.

mysterync 10-13-2009 03:07 PM

I can make some with pipe fittings if you like :)

JDpwr 10-14-2009 09:49 AM

TST is ajustible but not a very fine adjustment
