Fuel pressure

Hi I have just repaired my power stering pump it was leaking from the seals and I replaced them but know my fuel pressure guage it's reading at 8 psi and it was reading before at 13psi does any body know why it change I am worryed because it's geting close to 5psi .I have just replaced the vp44 with one of blue chips also I put an airdog 100 and a dpricol fuel preassure guage with an isolator wich iam thinking of takeing off and replacing it with a needle shutoff . Also I been running the truck for about 1800 miles and also the last 1000 miles I have been driveing it in Mexico and the diesel here it's very nasty it has alot of trash in it . Thanks !

Most likely it's the isolator. It can be reset by removing the gauge side fitting, pushing the diaphragm down tot he engine side with a pencil eraser and reinstalling.

I don't like the pancake style isolators. We have only had 3 failures with our type with thousands sold!

I also do not like the needle valve. I have seen a few fail and it's an impossible fix on the side of the road.

well maybe you should try changing your fuel filters on your airdog. They may be getting clogged up if there is alot of crap in the fuel. if that doesnt fix it then try another fuel pressure gauge. thats my opinion anyways.

Thank you for your advise it was the isolator I did the reset and it's back to normal .
