I need a fuel pressure guage...

I don't have alot of money to spend right now because I've already spent it on this damn truck, but I desperately need to by a fuel pressure guage I can have in the truck. Anyone know where I can get a good deal on one. And it doesn't have to be the best, I plan on getting a programmer with a pod someday so I'll have that. For now I just need something basic, and I don't want a warning light.

Smart man on the idiot light...theyre no good :booo:

You can do this for under $50...you just need a guage (doesnt have to be fancy or even lighted) - any old pressure guage will do -> 0-30 psi is best for a 24V.

Theres a couple of ways that can do the hookup: 1) directly on the fuel filter or 2) onto the test port on the VP-44 itself.

1) on the fuel filter:

Attachment 52340

Same deal, different truck:

Attachment 52341

2) on the VP-44 test port:

Attachment 52342

You will need some tubing (1/8" DOT rated airbrake line works fine), a needle valve (or pressure snubber) and some fittings.

Thats the basics.

hit up the request a price quote and our fine sponsers here will shoot ya a price..................you may be suprised

Yeah, the whole idea of a light that comes on once I have low pressure is stupid. I have two pumps in series and I'd like to be able to tell when one fails, which you can't do with a light. Yeah a light would be dumb!

request a price quote, where do I do that? Haven't done that before.

Here: Price Quote - Request A Price - Diesel Bombers

If price is an issue - skip the electric guages as well as the ones with the isolator - you simply dont need it.

Yeah I just need the most basic thing I can get that I can read from inside the truck. Responding to Dr. Evil...What's the best/easiest way to hook it up, the bajo on the IP or on top of the filter? I can do this for under $50?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

So what should I go with?

Dr. Evil 06-17-2009 05:11 PM

I believe the fitting on the filter is 1/8" NPT (but dont quote me on that)...so all you need is a guage (fitting for the guage), some line, a needle valve, and a fitting for the filter housing.

Im not trying to plug anyone in oparticular here - but Vulcan Performance has a test guage as well as any of the fittings you might need:

Fuel Pressure Tester w/ Schrader Connection

Vulcan compound turbo components, FireBall injectors, DrawStraw? Big Line Kits, VP silicone boot kits, gauge installation components, metric adapters & fittings, FASS, Quadzilla, Edge,AirDog, DTT Trans, ISSPRO, HTT Turbo, AFE, Veg pumps,? brackets,

If you have a Grainger or Swagelok supplier around you - they should have everything you need as well.
