Default T56 to a Cummins

I am thinking about moding a 2wd with a cummins just for the street. Is there a trans like the T56 that would bolt up with an adapter plate. I am not happy with the NV5600 as there are not rebuild parts. Slow shifting ect. So how about a T56 are they strong enough. I need something to handle around 750 ft pounds.

No, a t56 isnt going to be anywhere close!
NV4500 or a Auto is your options. Of course theres plenty of trannys you could put in...but why? a NV4500 is proven , so are the autos!

my NV4500 is handling the 1100 plus ft lbs that im laying down, using a Dual disc clutch and no other upgrades, been doing it for 230k miles. shift plenty fast enough to power my 4x4 7900 lb beast to sub 15 second quarter miles. youre gonne spend at least 800 on the adapter plate and linkage, not counting the costs for the trans itself.

Exactly, Ask John P. on this board. His son holds one of the records for a nv4500 1/8th and 1/4 I think.

I put 1500+ Ft Lbs on a nv4500 daily for over a year with only minor problems and some fluid changes!
