New airdog II 165

I was wondering if any one else has installed one of the units on an 2nd gen yet? I just got one today :U: and cuz i didn't have an in-tank pump they shorted me the fuel module upgrade kit. :argh: Ron said its not needed do to the way the 165 pump works diffrently form the Airdog 150. It just sucks up fuel through the 3/8in or so line out of the tank. Does this sound right to anyone. Seems like it would really hinder the flow/preformance of the system compared to having either the fuel module upgrade or a draw straw. :humm:

Any thoughts on the mater will be greatly appreciated.

well with the pump using the 3/8 line I think you wouldn`t be having the 1/8 tank fuel problems and install will be a little easier
I have no clue if it would hinder flow or not using the smaller line:humm:

Havent seen the new airdog but my airdog 150 uses a 1/2 inch pickup. I think the AD 100 uses a 3/8 inch line and the original pickup? I would think that small of line would hinder the flow on the 165.

On my Airdog 100 I just use the stock line, I too would think it would be to small.

the fass 150/150 for our trucks has its own suction tube line that u put in the tank for the high volume it needs b/c the stock pump is restrictive so i would look into that

Well i figured i would go ahead and put it in like ron says to. Which is the same way they install the ad100. But i think they need to inform ppl that they wont be getting the fuel module upgrade for our years of trucks w/o the in-tank pump. Which means no 1/2in line sucking out of the tank :ouch: and still having to splice in to the fuel neck.:booo:

As I understood all the kits include the draw straw but the intake pumps came with the "upgraded kit".

Well kinda as i said there was no draw straw or the airdog Fuel module upgrade in my kit that i got from airdog. Cuz, my truck still had just the original fuel pump mounted on the block and never had the dodge in-tank pump installed in the tank. I also found this originaly posted by DieselMinded..

My instructions look similar but from page 13 on completly diffrent. If i get time this weekend ill scan mine in, for refrence later on.

On page 14 of the manual you didn't get any of those parts? Because thats the upgraded 1/2 pickup line that goes in the fuel basket.

Diesel Dawgs Performance 04-17-2009 07:10 PM

Yup you should have got a new draw straw.
