replaced the vp44 today and i still have check engine light and truck still doesnt start anyone anything did i just replace vp 4 nothin

What kind of Lift Pump you using? Any codes? Hows Fuel Pressure? Did you crack the fuel lines loose and bleed lines?

ALLAINT fuel pump Fualt code po253 fuel pressure was good than it died down to a trickle
and yea i tried bleeding the lines and then i lost pressure maybe because i only have 1/8 tank fuel?????:ouch:

drawstraw with the allaint?
if it is ya might have the same thing i used to come across with the air dog as I drilled my tank wrong and if i was on a hill no fuel when the tank was low:w2:
may take more then just one line cracked

Fill the tank up!
Then crack #1,3 & 4 injector lines. Then bump the starter, let the LP run, do this about 3 times, then try to start it until you get fuel out of the injector lines. She should try to start. Give that a shot and see if it works.

i wil fill her up in the morning But what the hell is PO253??? And why can i find out nothing about it??? INJECTION PUMP FUEL METERING CONTROL A -- FUEL INJECTION PUMP FUEL VALVE OPEN CIRCUT ??? WHY is there no info on this in the book???? I hate when $ is wasted!!!!:argh::argh:

Have you tried having this code cleared from the computer? Sometimes stored codes can screw with things.

can i pull the code by unhooking the batts. and letting them sit unhooked for a little while and then hook them back up or do i need a scanner that canpull the code out

When I put my Fass 150 and new VP44 on I had to bleed everything! I loosened the front bolt on the filter to bleed there first till I had fuel coming out the line that feeds the VP44. I bumped the key to get the lift pump going, and once fuel started coming out I tightened it down. Then I cracked #1, #2, #3 , and #4 lines loose to the injectors. Cranked, let the lift pump run, crank, let LP run. Just bump the key by the way. Did that over and over for about 20 minutes, then tightened everything down once I seen fuel oozing out the lines. Then bumped the key again, let the lift pump run, then after it shut off, I cranked for 15-20 seconds intervals, till it fired up about the fourth interval. If it starts to sound like its gonna kick over, just keep it cranking til it fires. Just try not to crank over 30-40 seconds, gets the starter hot real fast. The whole process took me about an hour to get it running again after all the new parts install.

but i still have check engine light does anyone now how to clear codes without scanner????? ive been trying to bleed it for like 2 days...... thanx for the help im gonna keep trying to bleed it out.......:ouch:
