pitman arm stuck??

only use heat if you have to. A BFH and the puller in there tight and a huge prybar. Hit it with the hammer and tighten the puller. Some kind of lube would be good to. But lube and heat usually dont mix.

BIG ball-peen hammer should do the trick once you get the puller on there. The ball will shock it enough to make it jump off the taper, and the puller will pull it off the splines.

u all dont understand if u shock the gear box u r just ruining in itself. The man is pullin the pitman arm off bc he is just going replace the seal so what does it matter if he ruins the damn seal!?

Body grinder, works every time. If you got a body grinder, a hammer, a torch and a welder you own a well stocked shop and can fix anything.

Default I am in the process of changing mine too....

I am in the process of changing mine too and i just took a bench grinder and grinded the points sharper off of the puller and it slipped right in...and i got the pittman arm off but now I cant figure out how to get the old seal out...any help would be appreciated...

Gotta hook the seal with a pick, or try driving one side of it further in and hopefully it pops the oppposite side out.

hey man there should b a nut up there take it loose then remove the seal and be sure to tighten the pitman arm to 185 ftlbs
