I could be wrong but i'm pretty sure p1693 is a TPS sensor which is your APPS. Mine threw the p0216 and I replaced the VP44 and it still had the same problem your having so I bought an APPS from Blue Chip and now she runs real perty like!

1693 is just a companion code the truck throws to show you it has a thrown code in the companion module.(ECM/PCM)
