truck stalls?
i am having a problem with my 2002 ram 3500, i will being driving and it will stall not even for a second and then comes back to life by itself....i noticed it only does it when its cold after it reaches full temp it never does it, at first it did it to me one time and then i didnt have a problem now today it did it to me 3 times within 2 miles....im confused i got codes P0606, P1693,P0500. im not sure some of these may be from the time i had lift pump failure , unless they clear themselves after so long of running normal.....thanks

hmm
P0606 = pcm processor fault P1693 = Manufacturer contrl auxiliary inputs auxiliary outputs P0500 = veh speed sensor A malfunction this is what I get for them :humm: someone with more knowledge will chime in I`m sure |
Sounds like your Fuel Filter is plugged
Hows your fuel pressure?
steady 15psi like normal....there is times when it is cold out normally 30 degrees and below when i first start it, it will be around 12 psi for a few minutes then it goes to 15psi.... i have an airdog and theres about 8,000 miles on my filters.
thanks |
Could possibly be Crank Position Sensor but it should throw a code...IDK:argh:
the thing that gets me is the service engine light never comes on, maybe it wont either, im not sure
is it hard to start?
nope, a few minutes ago it actually shut off on me twice, and i turn the key and it starts right up again.....
:humm: im still saying CPS
cps is my guess at it too:w2: ,it will cool down enough to reset itself in the time it takes to turn the key back on ,had this prob with a dt 530 last summer worked at it for three days:argh: and finnally got pissed enough to call the dealer for a service call, told them what it was doing and he said he would send a tech and a cps fixed it in about 5 min. haven't had a prob since:U:
my 98.5 done this back in 04, ended up being an APPS sensor gone bad, which defaulted the ECM and caused it to shut off exactly like yours. ended up replacing it and having the ECM reflashed, no problems since

P1693 = DTC Detected in PCM/ECM or DTC Detected in ECM A Companion DTC was set in both the ECM and PCM. P0500 = No Vehicle Speed Sensor Signal No vehicle speed sensor signal detected during road load conditions. Ok... Now that we got correct information from the error codes from a Dodge FSM. The ECM is fried right out of the hole... So you going to need to replace the ECM to fix this problem. |
ok im going to update this alittle bit, now that ive driven it for a few more days it seems like just crusing nice it will buck and come alive again, and if im on the throttle hard it will stall completely, it only does it to me between epprox. 140 and
175 degrees once it reaches full temp(190-200degrees) it has never done it to me, can you guys please give me your advice again maybe this will help to limit it down to one thing Thanks:U: |
Still sounds like ECM.
so u think i need to replace the ecm
