Filter minder testing...

For those guys that have filter minders or BHAF with a filter minder. I made a short video how to test your filter minder...

You'll find that the suction is about the same amount as would put on a drinking straw in a large drink.

Now I bet the few that have read this post will be wondering what they did with the stock filter minder...:argh:

It you look at it close its not inches of mercury its inches of water...

I do not have the one off my truck, as it had a BHAF when I bought it. I do have one off of my Dad's 02 PSD. Will it work, or does the displacement matter? Thanks.

Should work fine... But do you really want to have a FORD part under your hood??? :lol88:

I doubt there will be any effect on the almighty CUMMINS:bat:. Maybe the Ford part will help the rest of the truck straighten up:ouch:.

I will have to check mine. I don't think it works at all. It seems to be the same every time I clean my filter. If I waited for that thing to tell me my filter needs attention, I'd have a lifetime maintenance free filter:humm:

Well I installed my BHAF back at 50K miles... I'm currently at 138K that make that filter have 88K miles on it. Never have to wash, oil, blow of with compressed air, vacuum, etc... It just keeps going. Now the onlt time I've seen the filter minder pop up is when the BHAF got wet a few times (Puddle jumping). But just reset the minder and at sits at the bottom...

Do remember over 80% of Idaho roads out here are dirt! The only paved road is the highway...:w2:

Dr. Evil 02-20-2009 04:34 PM
