airdog install question

Hi to all, this is my first visit. I have a 99dodge/ vp44 ip. The dealer updated the lift pump to intank 200 miles ago. I just got my guage pod in, with fuel pressure guage. I started it up and the guage read 6lb, underload it said 3lb. I got the service manual, it said min. running 10psi. I called the dealer on it, but they didn't seem to care. I bought an airdog system #100, so now I have to drop the tank and install a 1/2'' pick up tube. Anyway back to my question, airdog recommends bypassing the original filter. what happens to the fuel heater & water warning light ect. on stock system? This system is good to 550hp, but I'm running stock and really don't plan to change. The fitting at the ip has a 1/4'' hole, but your going to hook a 1/2'' hose to it? This system has I think a 2 micron filter so utilizing my stock filter would double safety. I also have a completely separate Frybrid system, with diesel in it, with a Rapter pump set at 15psi, so I can still run safely if I have to. So does anyone have some input for my stock trk? Thanks for your time Frank:howdy:

i could be wrong but i think the 100 systems dont have the draw straw so you shouldnt have to drop the tank.

You dont need the fuel heater or the WIF Light , I have an Air Dog and my Fuel gets up to 80* pretty Fast w/o a fuel heater

first off think of the 1/2" line going into the 1/4 hole not as you are like it's a restriction. it's more the stock 3/8 or whatever line going to the IP has a lot of friction loss, causing the pressure drop, ie the 1'2" line wont have the friction the lil one does. also you have 1/2" of pressureized fuel line it can handle more demand with less press drop.

i would recommend bypassing the stock filter can as well, it is not needed. and the fuel heat/ water in fuel light. as far as i'm concerned i dont need an idiot light to tell me i got bad fuel.

im pretty sure the airdog 100 doesnt have a draw straw... should have got the 150... which im pretty sure u will have to get one i think with the intank pump u have to put a draw straw in... anyone correct me if im wrong

i know the 100 doesn't come with one from pureflow.(gotta get it seperate) and the 150 does. not positive, but i think you're right you need one if you got the in tank LP no matter what

The 100 series has the connector to hook directly to the fuel sender.

The 150 series has the drwastraw. Which has a few flaws but work excellent...

Thanks all, got the pick up tube yesterday. Will deleat original filter.I will still be going thru a Frybrid 3/8'' 3 way valve, for a very short distance to Ip. Went under the knife again Friday, so I'll have to wait to pull the tank. I feel like I got run over by my Dodge. Thanks again all. Frank:U:

I would not have bothered to put the draw straw thing on,(except you probably had to,to get the crappy in tank pump out of the way),and on mom's truck I just ran the airdog into the stock filter housing, put a clean filter in there and you should never have to change it,the airdog has filters built in.
I'll run bigger lines from the stock filter to the IP if she ever decides to go for the big horses.

Who is the dealer? I'd like to put his ass on my don't "bother going there" list.
