Boost tube from Turbo to Intercooler.
I have a quick question. The tube running from the turbo to the intercooler appears to be too short. About 3 months ago it separated from the turbo (at the first rubber boot). I reconnected it and really torqued the clamp down.
Last night it separated from the intercooler. (with a loud POP!) Fixed again. My question is that it appears to be too short to allow for the engine movement under heavy torque. Is there a manufacturer that you would recommend that makes a tube that removes the rubber boots or is designed to handle the engine movement to a greater degree than the stock parts? Thanks for your help, Mark |
Mr. Bobs is an option

Wow, That is blue.
Have you used them? It seems like a pretty complete kit. |
the OEM boots are very weak.............you need some aft mkt boots, the 2 you are talking bout are most suseptable

Ok DM. I see you have used them. :ok1: Any problems since the install?
$519 is a lot of cash, but it is a complete kit. :U: Kevin, I found out the hard way. The first time I didn't know if I was going to make it home. The truck ran like crap and the EGT's went through the roof getting up my driveway. I definitely need a fix. I'll see about getting Mr Bob's on Monday. Thanks much. Anyone else found a different manufacturer I should look at? |
do a request from our vendors and you may be suprised :U:

BD makes a kit and a few others , the MR.Bobs is all the coolent hoses and ect you really dont need all that just the boost boots and spring clamps

I put a quote request out.
I don't mind doing all the pipes. It's probably not a bad idea. However, with Christmas just around the corner, I'm thinking I should keep the spending to a minimum. (at least on things for me.) |
