&@*& door panels!!!

what is the secret to getting the door panels off? i damn near ripped it off just tyring to get to the speaker.

also, my left rear door doesn't seem to want to release the lower latch. can i pull the door panel while its closed to open the door?

There is a forked tool like a claw hammer that slide up under the panel and allow you to pry the plastic fasteners out of the door without breaking the door panel. It might break the plastic fasteners or rip them out of the door panel. So make sure you get a bag of them from NAPA or such...

Stop by NAPA or a body shop and they be able to get you one (or at least show you what it looks like) I've made my own out of a piece of steel.

Get your fingers under there and pull out , the clips will stay in the door , slide them out and put them back in the door skin when you put it back on .

i just use a flat screw driver to start one corner and then my fingers the rest of the way.

Same here. Once you get the corner started, it's pretty straight forward. I broke two of the clips, but got a bag of them at NAPA.

A superbar works good too.

ill try that. i thought i was gonna mess up the panel when i was pulling on it. i need to replace the speaker because it comes on and off. its getting really annoying.
