Electrical Issue

Not really a diesel problem, but on the truck so hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. Anyway, radio, dome light, map lights, and power mirrors (did not check cargo light) quit working. Everything else seems to work fine, but could be something else. Did not have a circuit tester with me. Bought some fuses and replaced radio fuse in door panel (looked OK) with no effect (we only knew about radio then because it was during the day). Pulled the accessory one under the hood and checked looked OK. Checked it with a multimeter when we got home and it's OK.

Any ideas about what this could be????

I hate electrical issues.

check the conections in your steering colum i have heard of those coming loose. it is a flat white plug on the bottom of the colum. if that is not it then check your grounds. sorry i could not be more help

OK. have to go on a biz trip so it will be the weekend before I can look at it.

OK, a couple of grounds check OK (0 resistance back to chassis). I have power to the fusebox in the door panel on radio circuit. I have messed with every plug under the dash and all seemed to be tight and none of them made any difference.

In crappy Haynes manual I have, several of the "typical" wiring diagrams for interior lighting reference a timed delay relay. Any idea where this thing is in the harness and a color or some kind of identifying characteristic of it? I think both the radio and interior lights work for a while before shutting off. No clue about power mirrors, as those are only adjusted with a driver change.

The joy of an electrical issue. :argh:
